I envisions a deconstruction of “The Mother” archetype through exploring the already existing space between the myth of the “The Good Mother” and the daily realities of motherhood. Having initially become interested in the figure of the “The Good Mother” within a Québecois context, I will explore how this figure is constructed in other cultural, social and linguistic circumstances to open up the proposal and present a broader range of parallel discourses and perspectives.
