Mother’s songs
2016 | Residency Struts & Faucet, Sackville, NB
During this residency, I’ve been interested in mother-daughter relationships through different musical culture and I filmed choir singers interpreting a capella, in their kitchen, a song that have been transmitted by their mother. The exploration of this collection of songs tried to open up reflections on lineage, through matrilineal transmissions, thus to explore how a musical culture can be internalize from one generation to another.
