J’ai un amour qui ne veut pas mourir / (Never Ending Song of Love), that’s what Renée Martel sang in the 70s. Today, Myriam Jacob-Allard declines this familiar tune in various poetic variations. In the series of projections and videos, the text of the song is put forward. Under a pile of blond hair, fringes and passionate red costume, the singer’s physical presence fades to give way to text and speech. Making a kind of tribute to the video, in an uncluttered decor of yesteryear, the lips whisper a music that never dies in the hearts of his fans. This love that does not want to die is the incessant love of the artist for music. The exhibition elevates the contrast and ambiguity between the spirit of country music and the lyrics that sometimes hold a hidden darkness. Ne pas mourir / (Not to Die) is tinkered with low-fi and simplicity. Myriam sings again this song on a loop like a salve, a promise of everlasting love. The love of music.
