Renaissances is a series of performances in which I created a personae based on the popular country singer Marie King. I performed this singer alone, with her double or with a band. I produced a minimalist music and performed songs that deal with the idealized conception of the role of the “Mother” in Quebec culture while evoking the memories of family reunions and gatherings in Church’s basements.
